Class Descriptions

Gentle & Restorative Yoga

Designed for those who prefer a class less vigorous than Traditional Hatha Yoga I.  It includes gentle stretches and breathing as well as movements designed to increase range of motion and increase energy.  This class is ideal for students who have chronic symptoms such as muscle/joint pain, stiffness, weakness or fatigue as well as those students seeking a relaxing yoga class to restore their mind, body and spirit.

Traditional Hatha I/II

A beautiful class focused on calming the mind and surrendering the ego through a level one Hatha Raja Yoga sequence.  The asana, pranayama and meditation practice included are perfectly designed to purify the mind and body, and prepare students for discovering their connection with their true self.  The intention of this class is to create a collective yet personal experience through the ancient science of yoga and offers variations and modifications incorporated to adapt to each students level.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

A rhythmic Vinyasa yoga class, in which movement is synchronized to the breath and integrates smooth transitions between poses that become a dance and are created to make your body languid. Sun salutations are a staple here and inhales and exhales are  your beat of the heart. You will be instructed in movement from one pose to the next, moving with new found freedom through breath.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga delves below the muscular tissue and targets the connective tissue – fascia, ligaments, bones, and even joints – by holding poses for anywhere from 3 to 15 minutes. This practice will mainly consist of floor poses targeting the hips, pelvis, thighs, and lower spine.  Bringing extra strength and flexibility to these joints and allowing your chi to flow more evenly as you experience a deeper since of calm and lower stress levels.  Yin is a perfect complement to a more heated (yang) practice and busy everyday life styles.

Yogi Kids

For ages 5-9, our Yogi Kids classes are alive with flowing sequences, balancing poses, breathing exercises, and creative relaxation techniques. The children will explore yoga poses, breathing exercises, and visual imagery through theme activities, storytelling, music, and art to engage lessons in self-expression, body image, social skills, positive thinking, and environmental awareness. Duration: 45 minutes  ~ $11/class
